Since 2002 EUSARF publishes its own journal named “The International Journal of Child and Family Welfare”.

Aims & Scope

The International Journal of Child and Family Welfare publishes empirical and review papers dealing with child and family welfare as well as with youth care. Particularly encouraged are papers of a truly interdisciplinary and international nature covering following areas:

  • children in need
  • vulnerability and resilience among children and families
  • child maltreatment
  • homeless youth
  • child protection services
  • best practices and innovations in residential, foster, and day care
  • family preservation programs
  • prevention of juvenile delinquency, drug and alcohol abuse
  • child and adolescent mental health problems
  • outcomes of out-of-home placement

The Journal is of great interest to:

  • child and youth care workers
  • social workers
  • pedagogues, child psychologists and child psychiatrists

The Journal publishes:

  • Full-length papers reporting empirical research (including meta-analyses)
  • Literature reviews
  • Book reviews
  • A column for discussion papers on child/family welfare or youth care issues
  • Special issues devoted to specific themes

In Fall 2014 the journal will be relaunched. A special issue is forthcoming.
